Overview

The role of the Quality Management Lead is to ensure that project quality requirements are met across the full project life cycle. This includes contract award, design, procurement, manufacturing, testing, shipping, construction or installation, commissioning, and contract close-out.

Responsibilities
  • Review, approve, and monitor contractor quality plans.
  • Identify needs for supplier audits, engage auditors, and ensure findings are resolved.
  • Produce project-specific quality control plans.
  • Ensure deployment of contractual quality requirements, such as general specifications, quality records, release certifications, and inspection and test plans.
  • Provide guidance to contractors on quality planning, records management, and quality-related activities.
  • Lead reviews of quality records and support strategies for progressive provision of documentation by contractors.
  • Review and assess inspection and test plans submitted by suppliers.
  • Coordinate and improve the review and acceptance of manufacturing documentation and inspection activities.
  • Support the resolution of non-conformances, including corrective actions.
Qualifications

  • A degree, higher education qualification, or equivalent experience in a relevant science or engineering subject.
  • Broad experience implementing quality management solutions.
  • Proven leadership experience in a quality assurance and quality control environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve issues with diverse stakeholders in complex environments.
  • Experience in project delivery with a strong focus on quality, ideally within complex, safety-critical, or highly regulated industries.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management best practices for large, contract-driven organisations.
  • Experience working with project teams and supply chain partners.
  • Skilled in data analysis, reporting, and making recommendations.
  • Reside locally to Bridgwater or be prepared to relocate, as this permanent role does not include travel expense coverage.
  • Visa sponsorship is not guaranteed and is assessed on a case-by-case basis, depending on role criticality and project needs. Many UK projects require high-level security clearance, meaning we can often only consider candidates with an existing, indefinite right to work in the UK. Exceptionally, we may consider visa sponsorship for applicants with niche experience aligned to our core work (e.g. EPR/nuclear new build).
