Job description
Overview

Passionate about quality and the environment? We're looking for a hands-on leader to drive ISO standards, sustainability, and continuous improvement in a leading manufacturing business. Are you someone who enjoys making a real difference in how things are run? Do you have a passion for quality, the environment, and helping teams work to high standards? If so, this could be your next big step. We're on the lookout for a Quality & Environmental Supervisor to join a leading manufacturing company in Carrington.

In this role, you'll take the lead on the site's Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) and support the wider Quality Management System (ISO 9001). You'll also be the right-hand person to the QHS Manager, stepping up to lead the department when needed and guiding others with confidence and support. This is a hands-on, varied position where no two days are the same — perfect for someone with solid QE experience who enjoys responsibility, problem-solving, and encouraging continuous improvement.

What you'll be doing
  • Taking full ownership of the Environmental Management System (ISO 14001), keeping it maintained, audited, and continually improved.
  • Supporting the Quality Management System (ISO 9001) — from audits and shop-floor checks to customer complaint investigations and improvements.
  • Acting as deputy to the QHS Manager, representing the department across the business and providing leadership when required.
  • Coaching and training colleagues on QE processes, making sure everyone feels confident and supported.
  • Playing a key role in sustainability projects and promoting environmental awareness across the site.
  • Preparing reports, keeping up to date with legislation, and supporting certification reviews.
What we're looking for
  • At least 3 years' experience in a manufacturing/operational environment in Quality & Environmental roles.
  • 2+ years in a supervisory or management role, with direct experience leading people.
  • Strong, proven knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems, audits, and compliance.
  • Confident communication skills — able to engage with people at all levels.
  • Organised, proactive, and detail-focused, with a hands-on and problem-solving mindset.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office and familiar with root cause analysis/CAPA processes.
Bonus points
  • IOSH Managing Safely.
  • An environmental or sustainability qualification (IEMA, BSc, etc.).
What's in it for you?

This is more than just a compliance role — it's a chance to shape the way a business operates, drive positive environmental impact, and make sure quality standards are not only met but exceeded. You'll be working in a supportive environment where your ideas and leadership will genuinely make a difference.
