Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to ensure that production meets high-quality standards. As part of a dynamic team, you will cover inspection processes, maintain documentation, and work to high safety and quality standards. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience with quality control measuring equipment and strong interpersonal skills. This position offers a structured double day shift of 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in using Co-ordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
  • Fully experienced with inspection/measuring equipment.
  • Capable of reading and understanding engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Cover inspection of products and processes for quality control.
  • Ensure conformance of products to specifications and standards.
  • Raise non-conformance reports for any discrepancies.
  • Support continuous improvement processes within inspection team.

Job description

Our client is a leader in the Design and Manufacturing of bespoke valves for a variety of industries and they are looking for a Quality Control Inspector to join their team!

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Cover the inspection of products and processes relating to all aspects of quality control with the Company e.g. goods‑received, in‑process, NDT and final inspection
  • Ensure the conformance of products and processes to relevant specifications and standards and complete and maintain accurate documentation according to the Company requirements. This includes:
    • 1st Off Inspections
    • Dimensional Inspection Record Sheets
    • Dye Penetrant Inspection
    • PMI, Ferritescope & Copper Sulphate Reports
    • Works Traveller Booking
    • Goods Reject Notes
    • Non‑conformance reports
    • Work instructions/procedures
    • Raw materials certification
    • Calibration of inspection equipment
  • Raise non‑conformance reports where any items or events do not conform to standards or specifications/drawings
  • Using recognised quality control measuring techniques/equipment where manufacturing processes are tightly controlled to ensure the products meet agreed standards
  • Support the promotion of continuous improvement processes within the inspection team for the benefit of the Company (under the supervision of the Inspection Supervisor)
  • The ability to maintain effective professional relationships with the Inspection team, the Production Management Team, Engineering Department, Planning & Purchasing Department and F&D for all inspection issues
  • Liaison with customer representatives with regards to the inspection and final witness of goods in line with the customer’s quality requirements as stated on the Company Quality Plan
Ideal Candidate
  • Extensive experience of using a Co‑ordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), both manual & CNC
  • Fully experienced with all inspection/measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, thread gauges, shadow graphs and Hardness testing equipment
  • Fully experienced PCN Level 2 NDT Inspector (Preferable)
  • Fully experienced in reading and understanding Engineering drawings
  • Conversant with materials certification
  • You must be able to remain calm under pressure especially in situations when quality requirements may conflict with production demands
  • Work to high standards of quality, within a strong safety culture and a good working knowledge of QMS ISO9001:2008 is desirable
  • Capable of working with tight deadlines and multiple deliverables
  • Good interpersonal skills and to work well in a team
  • Good numerical and literacy skills
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications, email and internet
Working Hours
  • 37.5 hours on a double day shift (shift allowance included)
  • Earlies: Monday to Thursday: 06:00am – 14:00pm and Friday: 06:00am – 11:00am
  • Lates: Monday to Thursday: 14:00pm – 22:00pm and Friday: 11:30am – 17:00pm
