The Role
We are seeking a Qualified Electrical Engineer to join our forward-thinking team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative renewable energy projects, focusing on the electrical installation of renewable heating systems (e.g., air source heat pumps) and solar PV systems. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring high-quality, efficient, and compliant installations that deliver exceptional results for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, install, and maintain electrical systems for renewable heating technologies, including air source and ground source heat pumps.
  • Carry out electrical installations for solar PV systems, including inverters and battery storage.
  • Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies, and electrical system assessments to determine project viability.
  • Work closely with installation teams to ensure safe and effective integration of renewable technologies.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults in installed systems and provide efficient solutions.
  • Ensure all installations comply with UK electrical safety standards, building regulations, and MCS certification requirements.
  • Provide technical advice to clients on energy efficiency and system performance optimization.
  • Keep updated on advancements in renewable heating and solar technology and relevant regulations.

About You

  • Qualifications: SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (Buildings and Structures).
  • Experience: Proven experience in electrical work for renewable heating installations (e.g., air source heat pumps) and solar PV systems. Experience should include all aspects of standard domestic electrical works.
  • Certifications: Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., 18th Edition, Part P), and familiarity with MCS standards.
  • Skills: Strong technical expertise in electrical systems, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a keen eye for detail.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of renewable energy systems, including grid connections, energy storage, and heat pump integration.
  • Driving Licence: A valid UK driving licence is essential.
