UK Remote

Our client provides emergency accommodation and vital support for some of the countrys most vulnerable people including survivors of domestic abuse, refugees, and individuals seeking asylum. Their mission is to create safe environments and deliver innovative solutions that protect and empower those most in need.

They are now looking for a QA Lead to drive the strategic direction of quality assurance across an expanding digital landscape. This role centres on process excellence, continuous improvement, and ensuring the QA function is fully aligned with wider business objectives. Youll define how quality is embedded throughout the SDLC, champion agile best practice, and work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure the organisation delivers secure, reliable, user-centred products.

What youll be doing

Leading the development of a QA strategy that supports business goals, regulatory expectations, and customer needs

Improving and standardising QA processes, introducing clear frameworks for planning, coverage, risk management, UAT and release readiness

Embedding quality early through close collaboration with Product, Engineering, UX and stakeholders in discovery, refinement and sprint ceremonies

Defining scalable test approaches, acceptance criteria and governance standards that strengthen confidence in delivery

Implementing meaningful metrics, dashboards and reporting to give visibility of quality, risk and stability across multiple workstreams

Championing continuous improvement and transparent communication within Scrum teams, helping uplift delivery predictability and quality outcomes

Coaching and mentoring QA professionals, driving upskilling, knowledge sharing, and high-performing team culture

Supporting accessible, inclusive, user-first product development and advocating for quality at leadership level

What youll bring

Experience leading QA strategy or maturing QA functions within modern, agile product teams

A strong background in process improvement and establishing consistent ways of working across manual, UAT and automated testing

Ability to align test strategy with business objectives, customer expectations and industry-specific considerations

Excellent communication, stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills

Knowledge of agile / Scrum delivery, CI / CD integration, and quality governance across the full SDLC

Experience shaping test coverage, improving documentation, and driving measurable improvements in defect prevention and release confidence

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a quality function that directly supports an organisation delivering meaningful social impact. Youll shape how quality is defined, measured, and embedded, helping the business deliver secure, robust and user-focused digital services.

Due to close links to the UK Home Office, all successful candidates will be required to undertake DBS and CTC vetting. Candidates must be UK citizens, have Settled Status or ILR.
