Job description

At Prodrive we believe there’s no limit to what can be achieved when the brightest minds come together. Joining one focused and driven team, you will challenge boundaries in order to change the game for our customers. We are the world’s leading independent motorsport company and the business behind some of the greatest names and achievements in motorsport over the last 40 years.

We are looking for a Purchasing Buyer to manage the procurement of non-production and production indirect goods and services. You will ensure best value, compliance, and service delivery across a range of categories such as IT, professional services, facilities management, travel, consumables, and selected light production-adjacent spend (e.g. fasteners, workshop consumables, MRO). With a focus on bringing spend categories under structured procurement control, the role balances cost savings with stakeholder service, delivering value without compromising quality, ease of doing business, or efficiency of internal processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, negotiate, and place purchase orders for non-production and indirect categories including IT/telecoms, facilities management, utilities, travel, consumables, fasteners, MRO, and professional services.
  • Deliver cost savings and added value through supplier negotiation, framework agreements, and market benchmarking.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure procurement adds value without creating complexity.
  • Manage supplier performance, including quality, service, delivery, and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Identify opportunities for spend optimisation through analysis of expenditure and supplier base.
  • Support and implement category strategies for indirect and facilities-related spend.
  • Promote efficiency by championing use of ERP/MRP systems, improving ordering processes, and reducing transactional burden on internal customers.

Who are we looking for?

  • Experience in indirect/non-production procurement, ideally within engineering, automotive, or other technical sectors.
  • Strong commercial acumen and proven negotiation skills.
  • Track record of delivering measurable savings and value improvements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Competence in ERP/MRP systems and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Analytical skills with ability to interpret spend data and identify opportunities.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practice, contract management, and supplier development.
  • CIPS qualification (or working towards) highly desirable but not essential where experience
  • Commercial focus – seeks value and cost improvement without compromising quality of service.
  • Stakeholder orientation – builds effective relationships and provides responsive procurement support.
  • Attention to detail – ensures accuracy in ordering, contracts, and data management.
  • Problem solving – identifies opportunities to streamline and improve processes.
  • Negotiation & influence – able to secure best terms and challenge where appropriate.
  • Teamwork – works collaboratively within the procurement function and with other departments.
  • Organisation – manages workload across multiple categories and deadlines effectively.

What can we offer you?

  • An attractive salary which will grow in line with your ongoing development and impact
  • 25 days holiday (which increases with long service) with an opportunity to purchase up to 15 extra days
  • Training opportunities for continuing professional development
  • Car and pension salary sacrifice schemes
  • Paid time off for volunteering
  • Consultations with our Fit 4 Life expert
  • Social events throughout the year
  • Exclusive company discounts
  • Life assurance.
