Overview

As part of Porsche Retail Group’s continued success and recent expansion, we are looking for an additional Purchase Ledger Controller to support the Finance department’s operations at our Reading Head Office. The role is to maintain the Company’s accounts payable function for the Porsche Retail Group, ensuring timely processing of invoices, reconciliations, and payments. Strong attention to detail and effective communication with suppliers, Porsche Centres management teams, and the wider business are essential.

Role

As a Purchase Ledger Controller, you will support the Group Finance Manager to maintain the accounts payable function for the whole Porsche Retail Group.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices, credit notes, and expenses accurately and on time
• Match, code, and reconcile invoices with purchase orders and delivery notes
• Manage supplier accounts, resolve queries, and maintain strong relationships
• Prepare payment runs within agreed terms
• Reconcile supplier statements and assist with month-end reporting
• Manage the purchase ledger email inbox and resolve queries in a timely manner
• Order and cancel a high volume of Company fuel cards
• Post bank transfers for all group centres daily
• Support the Finance Manager with audits and process improvements
• Provide ad hoc support to the Sales Ledger Team during periods of absence

Minimum Qualifications

• Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role
• Proficiency in accounting software
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Sound understanding of VAT and sales processes
• Solid accounting, finance and regulatory knowledge
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Desirable Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role in the automotive sector
• AAT Qualified
• Familiarity with Dealership Management Systems (DMS)
• Driving Licence
