Overview

Commercial/Office Division

A growing and developing company are looking for a knowledgeable and intuitive individual to join their dynamic team as a Purchase Ledger Assistant. The company are looking for an efficient worker who can support the goals and aims of the business.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that high volumes (approx. 600 per month) of invoices are processed, paid and coded on time, accurately and correctly.
  • Compile matching invoices and purchase orders, liaising with relevant departments over queries.
  • Process and collect payment of supplier invoices within required timescales and resolve any queries.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of supplier statements.
  • Run an aged creditors and prepare a purchase ledger payment run.
  • Maintain the finance inbox, categorising emails and identifying requirements.
  • Process bill payments, managing online utility portals as a parallel to spreadsheets and software.
  • Process staff expenses.
  • Manage direct debits and ensure ledgers are kept up to date.
Personal Attributes / Qualifications
  • Have AAT Qualification Level 2 or 3, or be interested in continuing these studies.
  • Show good understanding and practice of numeracy and computer literacy, being able to use Microsoft Excel and Outlook and pick up new accounting systems.
  • Have excellent attention to detail, organisation, problem solving and multitasking skills.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience within Purchase Ledger and using Accountancy Software.
  • Be comfortable working independently.
  • Work well under pressure.
Benefits
  • Flexibility to structure hours around a 37.5 hour week (Core hours Mon–Fri 10:00–16:00; office hours 08:00–18:00).
  • Salary £27,000–£28,000 per annum dependent on experience with a 10% annual bonus based on personal and company performance.
  • Death in Service, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, AXA private health insurance.
