A local government authority in Coventry is seeking a Pupil Inclusion Officer to support statutory duties surrounding school attendance and inclusion. This role, requiring 32.5 hours weekly for 9 months, demands strong numeracy, literacy, and customer care skills, along with experience in advising on education policies. An opportunity has arisen for a Fixed Term Temporary Pupil Inclusion Officer within the Education Inclusion & Attendance Team. The role is for 32.5 hours per week for a period of 9 months. Please note that the salary advertised has been adjusted to reflect the hours worked. Internal candidates may wish to consider this role as a secondment opportunity with prior agreement with their line manager. Reporting to the Senior Attendance Officer you'll support the local authority to fulfill its statutory duties and responsibilities for school attendance, inclusion, exclusion, and in‑year fair access arrangements and securing safeguarding requirements. All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role. This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
To be successful, you'll need to be someone with a high degree of accuracy, committed to customer care and someone with excellent numeracy, literacy and keyboard skills. You'll also have had experience of advising parents and schools on policy, guidance or legislation. You'll be a good team player who is wholly committed to achieving the very best.
