Inspire Young Minds as a Long-Term Supply Psychology Teacher in Durham

Are you a passionate and engaging Psychology Teacher looking to make a meaningful impact on students' understanding of human behaviour and mental processes? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed educator to join a supportive and well-regarded secondary school in Durham.

This long-term supply position begins in January and is expected to continue through to the summer term, offering stability and the chance to build strong relationships with students and staff.

The Role
  • Planning and delivering inspiring Psychology lessons in line with the national curriculum and examination specifications.
  • Supporting students to develop key psychological knowledge, research skills, and evaluative thinking.
  • Assessing, monitoring, and tracking student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback.
  • Creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment where all students feel valued and motivated.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to share resources and contribute to departmental development.
  • Teaching Sociology, where required, would be an advantage but is not essential.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • A specialism in Psychology (experience teaching Sociology is desirable but not essential).
  • A genuine enthusiasm for social sciences and student learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and the ability to adapt teaching to meet the needs of diverse learners.
