Job description
Client Details

Our Client is a rapidly expanding energy generation company which is a known brand within the power generation sector.

Description

You will:

  • Play an active part in commercial decision making and risk management alongside our commercial teams.
  • Assess project risks and risk management strategies and presenting these to directors and senior team members.
  • Advise independently and with the support of junior lawyers and/or external counsel on both standard form and bespoke construction (FIDIC, NEC, JCT) contracts as well Engineering (EPC / O&M) and other commercial agreements relating to the construction, maintenance and operation of power generation infrastructure.
  • Ensure that projects and transactions comply with all relevant corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with and advising commercial and financial specialists within the team in negotiations and assisting prompt decision-making among key stakeholders.
  • Provide proactive legal support to commercial and operations teams on projects that are in-contract and completed and assist monitoring of on-going performance to enable the business to anticipate issues and manage risks that may arise.
  • Supervise and review legal due diligence on acquisitions where required.
  • Manage and mentor junior team members, developing the know-how of the team.

This is a hybrid role requiring office attendance at least three days per week.

Profile

The successful candidate will be a qualified lawyer with at least 8 years post qualification experience in a law firm or an established business working in relevant sectors.

They will have experience of, working in the power / renewable energy / infrastructure sectors.

Previous experience of working in-house in a related company or sector would be an advantage.
