The Project Manager will play a central role in Bangor University’s management and coordination of the EU ARTHURS project encompassing the project’s administration, legal, financial, communication and organisational aspects as well as contributing to the wider project work packages where tasks are assigned to Bangor University. The position will combine project management for a large‑scale research network and other research‑associated duties as outlined below.

The Marie Skłodowska‑Curie Doctoral Network European Arthurs, Medieval to Modern (EU ARTHURS – grant agreement 101226326) – funded by the EU and by the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research, and Innovation – will bring together 11 doctoral students, several EU academic and academic‑related associate partners in the UK and Switzerland and has a total budget of around €3 million.

European Arthurs, Medieval to Modern (EUARTHURS) examines, for the first time, in cross‑cultural synchronic and diachronic ways, the conceptualisation and the transmission of Arthurian matter in its move from its origins in early medieval narratives from Wales into other geographical and linguistic areas in Europe in the Middle Ages, into other genres and art forms that endure to the present day.

The Project Manager will manage all training, operational, and financial aspects of the project, working with the academic project co‑ordinator Prof. Raluca Radulescu and will also conduct their own research related to the project.

  • Have a clear picture of the project’s deliverables and timelines, ensuring co‑ordination between partners and timely delivery.
  • Conduct research aligned with the ARTHURS project themes and objectives under the guidance of the project coordinators, and present findings at project plenary meeting(s).
  • Lead cross‑sector collaboration within and beyond the EU ARTHURS network, building effective working relationships with industry partners, the Scientific Advisory Board, and the European Commission to drive project delivery.
  • Play a central role in communicating and disseminating ARTHURS research outputs, preparing high‑quality content for project reports, the project website, and social media channels.
