Job Purpose

Software project managers are responsible for providing the consistency needed to see software projects through from start to finish. With a mixture of technical knowledge and leadership, they oversee both the product being produced and the people performing the work. They maintain information technology strategies by managing staff, researching, and implementing technological strategic solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects in accordance with determined standards and methodology. Lead assigned projects to completion.
  • Organize releases, prepare candidate release list, publish released tasks to customers.
  • Overall capacity planning.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Troubleshoot/escalate problems that come up during projects.
  • Develop individual project plans complete with budgetary information and resource needs.
  • Communicate with all departments about resource allocation.
  • Communicate project objectives to all team members involved.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel. Ensure that project team members are kept informed of progress, and stay aligned to the project goals.
  • Monitor and report staff performance during project period.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers as needed.
Requirements
  • BS or MS degree in engineering or relevant fields.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management.
  • Good spoken and written English.
  • Good understanding of software life cycle.
  • Knowledge about project management tools and techniques (Jira, Confluence, Slack, etc.).
  • Ability to engage with cross‑functional & functional teams.
  • Know and embrace the Agile & Waterfall mindsets.
  • Leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business and technology organizations.
  • Excellent communication, organization, time‑management, and leadership.
  • Certification of the following is a plus: PMP, PRINCE2.
