Job description
Project Lead – Sizewell B Nuclear Power Station, Suffolk

We are looking for an experienced Outage Project Lead to join our Outage Department at Sizewell B, the United Kingdom’s only Pressurised Water Reactor. The role involves leading a team and being accountable for delivering outage projects safely, on time and within cost, to meet the station’s business targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team through the entire outage cycle, from planning and preparation to execution and commissioning.
  • Manage an 18‑month project, overseeing scope, schedule, resources, and budget, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Mitigate risks, manage discovery milestones, and develop contingency plans to keep the project on track.

  • Maintain strong relationships and effective communication with delivery crews, utilities and cross‑functional groups.
  • Provide problem resolution and drive continuous improvement through critical review of project delivery.
  • Monitor and report on progress, escalating threats to delivery and driving resolution.
  • Coordinate with the multi‑disciplinary team responsible for the broader outage preparation.
Requirements and Skills
  • Proven track record in managing large, complex engineering or nuclear outage projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and safety regulations in a nuclear context.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work flexible shift patterns, including nights, during the outage period.
  • Experience in cost control, risk management and continuous improvement practices.
