Project Engineer

Salary : to £55,000 pa, depending on experience, plus yearly bonus

Located : St. Neots / Sandy area (Cambridgeshire / Bedfordshire)

Own transportation is required due to the company location

Permanent Position

39 hours per week : Monday-Thursday 8 : 30am - 5 : 00pm, Friday 8.30am - 4.00pm

Office-based with travel to customer sites in the UK and potentially overseas

Leading innovator in the design and manufacture of processing machinery / equipment, is seeking a talented engineering Project Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful projects.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering background with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects in the mechanical, processing, installation, food or related engineering environments.

The role requires candidates to live near to the Huntingdon - St. Neots - Cambrdige area and have their own transport because the office is in a rural area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of contracts from order receipt to successful installation and handover
  • Collaborate closely with clients and internal departments throughout the project lifecycle
  • Develop and agree on project scope with customers and sales team
  • Manage project schedule using Gantt charts
  • Generate project documentation such as Scope of Supply, timing plans, P&IDs, BOMs, and layout drawings
  • Source and specify bought-out components and equipment
  • Oversee equipment delivery, installation, and customer acceptance testing
  • Handle project changes and ensure timely invoicing
  • Coordinate subcontractors and oversee installations on-site in the UK and abroad
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a process engineering environment, preferably in the Food Processing Industry
  • Demonstrated success in managing engineering projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage with various stakeholders
  • Enthusiastic and proactive attitude with a problem-solving mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) and MS Project
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD LT
  • Knowledge of steam systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, pipework, and basic electrical control systems
  • Valid UK driving licence
