Overview

Project Engineer – Ashford, Kent (with travel across South London & Kent) • 12 months • £470–£533 umbrella

Our client are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to manage design and construction activities across a portfolio of rail infrastructure projects. This is a safety-critical role requiring Sentinel competencies (PTS) from Day One. You will be responsible for ensuring all works are delivered safely on time, within budget, and to the required technical standards.

Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Project Engineer in Rail
  • Valid Sentinel competencies (PTS & COSS) – required from Day One.
  • Proven experience managing engineering and construction activities within rail or a similar regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of CDM regulations, safety standards, and risk management processes.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience managing engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage design and construction activities for allocated projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, specifications, and procedures.
  • Implement company systems and processes to achieve cost-effective, high-quality, safe, and environmentally responsible delivery.
  • Lead and develop the engineering team, including rostering, training, and competency management.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements, including CDM regulations.
  • Provide technical and project management support across all construction activities.
