We’relooking for a Project Accountant to join our team in Manchester!

In this role you willbe responsible forthe management of project accounts, enabling effective cost control and ensuring the provision of key management information to the project team.This role sits within our Rolling Stock Customer Services business, working on the TransPennine Express project.

This role promotes hybrid working, with a requirement of 4 days in the office per week.

You’ll make an impact by
  • Overall responsibility for correct cost booking, as well as budget and forecast cost controlling analysison a monthly basis
  • Overall responsibility for the monthly closing of the project books, including journal processing and reporting
  • End to end customer invoice/billing management
  • Consolidatemonthly submission for forecast of all KPI's
  • Prepare financial reporting to support decision making and Commercial Manager requirements
  • Maintain good customerrelationship;calculating,agreeingand negotiating theadditionalcharges and penalties each month
  • Activelyparticipatein business process improvement and the digitalisation of processes
  • Calculate and document whole project lifecycle costs, including change and risk management
  • Internal progress reporting on the KPI's and cost positions of all key budget lines and projects
  • Act with integrity in a supporting role to the wider operational depot team
  • Ensure awareness andexhibitbehavioursin accordance withSiemens compliance policies
  • Implement safe systems and controls in all aspects of your work,complying withthe HSWE policies
  • This role profile may vary from time to timein accordance withchanges to business needs. Your annualobjectivesetting with your line manager will outline anyadditionalresponsibilities to meet business requirements or individual development needs for the forthcoming financial year.
Your success will be grounded by
  • Qualified CIMA or ACCA
  • Prior experience in a financial/accounting role
  • Solid accounting skills with ability todemonstratean understanding and interpretation of key financial statements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-disciplined with strong time management ability.
  • Diligent with good attention to detail.
  • Ability todemonstrateinitiative with flexible and proactive approach to work.
  • Willingness to learn and develop.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP desirable.
