Job summary

A not-for-profit organization in the United Kingdom is seeking a Project Accountant to manage project budgets, compliance with regulations, and financial reporting.   • Analyze variances between budgeted and actual expenditures, and provide recommendations.
  • Prepare quarterly, half-yearly, and yearly financial reports as per organizational and donor requirements.
Job description
Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and maintain project budgets in collaboration with the Project Manager and Head of Finance and Accounts.
  • Manage petty cash and ensure compliance with petty cash policies.
  • Analyze variances between budgeted and actual expenditures, and provide recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with donor rules, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for donor audits and internal/external financial audits.
  • Maintain proper documentation of all project-related financial transactions as per audit standards.
  • Ensure all financial documents, including bills, receipts, and payments, are safely and securely filed according to organizational procedures.
  • Regular Banking correspondence, deposits and withdrawals, preparation of banking documents, and preserving bank-related documents daily, i.e., Bank Reconciliation Statements, check book register, and any other Bank-related documents.
  • Ensure that all bills and related supporting documents are approved by the authority before preparation of debit (cash/cheque payment)/ journal voucher and writing cheque.
  • Ensure all financial transactions, including bills, receipts, and payments, are recorded as per the project's requirements.
  • Prepare quarterly, half-yearly, and yearly financial reports as per organizational and donor requirements.
  • Regular financial follow-up of livelihood and VSLA activities and periodically share with CDD.
  • Maintain the Procurement process as per the organization's procurement policy i.e., purchase requisition/ proposal, Quotation collection, Work Order, and purchase receipts.
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
  • Follow CDD's Children and Adults at Risk Safeguarding and other associate safeguarding policies to ensure the safety and well‑being of all project participants.
  • Promote a safe and secure environment for all participants and stakeholders of the project.
  • Report any safeguarding concerns promptly and follow the designated reporting procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Perform any other responsibility/ special duty delegated by project and CDD management.

  • CDD is accepting application for the position of 'Project Accountant' under a project named 'Anticipate, Include, Act: Strengthening Community Resilience in Kurigram' to be implemented with the support of CBM International. The duration of the project is till 30th June 2027. The selected candidate will initially be hired for a three‑month probationary period. Upon successful completion of this period, his/her employment contract will be renewed on an annual basis.
