What does a Programme Delivery Worker do at Hillingdon?

We are offering part time positions working 9 hours per week within the Hillingdon Youth Offer. Our offer runs throughout the year and across the whole of the borough. Work patterns may include daytime, afternoon shifts, evening shifts, weekend shifts, and occasional residential work. The salary advertised will be pro-rated. The Hillingdon Youth Offer works with children and young people to deliver high quality, consistent youth work through Targeted, Locality based, Detached, Outreach and Accredited programmes across the borough in collaboration with the statutory, community and voluntary sector. Our work is responsive to need, supports aspiration and is offered in safe spaces and places. Our work delivers opportunities that promote personal and social development, encourage children and young people to make informed choices and respect and value difference.

This post will be within the Sexual Health and wellbeing Team (KISS) which offers a range of education, prevention and therapeutic intervention to children and young people in Hillingdon, where there is a concern in relation to sexual health and relationships.

About you

The successful candidate will be committed to taking a positive, holistic and empowering approach to service delivery. We are looking for individuals with demonstrable experience and competence in developing work with children and young people within formal or informal education or community settings. We are seeking to recruit individuals with an excellent understanding of issues that children and young people face today and experience of leading a team. You will have a creative and dynamic approach and be able to engage with hard to reach and other vulnerable groups. There is no specific qualification required for this role, and training will be part of the induction. A willingness to learn and a commitment to supporting children and young people is a must. As a Programme Delivery Worker, you'll work within a small team of specialist practitioners delivering targeted services and have the opportunity to deliver an effective education and prevention programme offer, including workshops, assemblies, community events for children and young people, parents and professionals. Within your role you will be providing 1-1 psycho education sessions with young people to address concerns in relation to promoting healthy relationships and providing information and support around sexual health.

The ideal candidate will :
  • Have experience and / or knowledge around healthy relationships and sexual health
  • Be confident to plan and deliver group and one-to-one interventions and services that are responsive to need.
