Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum + Benefits

Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire (OX14)

Job type: Full‑Time, Permanent

Working hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday

Job Overview

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Assembly and Testing Production Technician supporting prototype battery cell assembly, electrode processes and test programmes. This hands‑on position suits someone organised with a strong eye for detail.

As an Assembly and Testing Production Technician you will work across assembly lines, dry‑room operations and laboratory testing, ensuring equipment is operated safely and accurately with full documentation and traceability.

The Assembly and Testing Production Technician will contribute to continuous improvement, resource planning and data reporting as the organisation scales its manufacturing capability.

Duties
  • Operate Assembly Equipment: Support pouch cell assembly including stamping, welding, filling, sealing and testing
  • Support Electrode Processes: Operate slurry mixing, coating and inline quality control equipment
  • Plan and Schedule Work: Coordinate builds and daily lab and assembly activities
  • Maintain Documentation: Keep accurate logs and ensure full traceability
  • Manage Equipment: Support calibration, routine checks, spares and maintenance
  • Ensure Safety Compliance: Maintain safe working environments, including dry‑room and laboratory standards
  • Data Support: Assist with data extraction, reporting and basic analysis
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process development and operational excellence
Candidate Requirements
Essential
  • Strong background in assembly or testing is required
  • Experience within a manufacturing or production line environment
  • Practical, hands‑on approach with the ability to follow detailed procedures precisely
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Proactive, detail‑oriented mindset with focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Effective communication skills and experience working in cross‑functional teams
  • Highly organised, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • The organisation welcomes applicants with experience in the paint industry, food production, printing, reel‑to‑reel processes, volume assembly, or any other high‑speed manufacturing environment
Desirable
  • Strong knowledge of lab safety standards, including 5S and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
  • Ability to follow engineering SOPs and maintain accurate documentation for traceability
