We are looking for an experienced Production Team Leader to join a busy machine shop in Kent that produces precision components. This role involves leading a small team of operators while also taking part in daily production work. You will organise workloads, support your team, and make sure work is completed safely, on time, and to the right quality standard.

Key Responsibilities as a Production Team Leader
  • CNC background is a must due to the day to day.
  • Lead and support a team of machine shop operators
  • Plan daily work to meet production and delivery targets
  • Monitor quality, scrap, and rework
  • Ensure health & safety rules are followed
  • Carry out team briefings and support training
  • Set and run machinery when required
  • Track basic performance measures (KPIs)
What we're looking for
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Previous experience supervising or leading a team
  • Good understanding of health & safety
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and carry out inspections
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
Desirable but not essential
  • Experience covering for a Production Manager
  • Knowledge of lean or 5S principles
  • Involvement in training or recruitment
