Production Planner – Manufacturing

Location: Cambridge

Salary: £30,000 per annum

Type: Full-time, Permanent

Are you a detail-oriented problem solver with a passion for keeping things running smoothly?

Our client, a leading manufacturing business based in Cambridge, is looking for a proactive Production Planner to join their growing team.

The Role

As Production Planner, you’ll be the link between sales, procurement, and manufacturing — ensuring production schedules are met efficiently, on time, and to customer requirements. You’ll coordinate resources, monitor progress, and adjust plans as needed to keep operations flowing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain daily/weekly production schedules
  • Coordinate materials and resources to meet customer orders
  • Monitor manufacturing progress and resolve scheduling issues
  • Work closely with purchasing, warehouse, and production teams
  • Analyse capacity and workload to optimise efficiency
  • Maintain accurate production data and reports

About You

  • Previous experience in a production planning or scheduling role, ideally within manufacturing
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Excel and ERP/MRP systems
  • Excellent communication skills, able to work cross-functionally
