A leading UK logistics company in Manchester seeks a Production Operative and Driver. You will be responsible for packing and sorting products in both high and low-risk areas, driving company vehicles with a focus on safety, and maintaining legal requirements. Essential qualifications include a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and the ability to operate forklifts and pack machinery. Ideal candidates will demonstrate professionalism and adherence to safety protocols in a fast-paced environment.
Production Operative and Driver Main Responsibilities: Must be able to work in both High and Low Risk Production areas Multi Drop Driver when required Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and a medical certificate confirming fitness to work in a food environment are required
Unauthorised passengers are not allowed.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Company Representation: Drivers represent the company during deliveries and collections and must maintain a professional appearance and behaviour.
Dress Code: Clean attire is required, as drivers may have direct customer contact.
High visibility jackets and safety footwear are mandatory for certain customers and are provided by the company.
Be aware of legal requirements, including smoking and tachograph laws.
The company is not responsible for any legal infractions (e.g., parking or speeding fines). Losing your license may affect your employment, though alternative roles may be considered.
Missing products may result in the company seeking compensation.
Return all delivery paperwork and temperature control sheets to the office and Technical Manager daily.
Check temperature probes weekly with the Technical Manager for accuracy.
Communication:
Regular communication with the company is required.
If you do not have a hands-free device, pull over safely before using your phone, as it is illegal to use a handheld device while driving.
