Job description

We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented Product Decontamination and Cleaning Operatives, initially temporary but could become permanent for the right person. This role is crucial in ensuring that all returned medical equipment is thoroughly cleaned, disinfected and prepared for safe reuse in line with infection control standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and inspect returned medical equipment for cleanliness, damage or contamination.
  • Carry out thorough cleaning and decontamination of items including beds, mattresses and mobility aids, following strict hygiene protocols.
  • Use appropriate cleaning products and equipment in accordance with company procedures and health & safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of cleaned and processed equipment.
  • Ensure the cleaning area is kept clean, organised and compliant with safety standards.
  • Report any faults or concerns to the relevant team.
  • Work collaboratively with logistics and maintenance teams to ensure efficient turnaround of equipment.
Person Specification
  • Previous professional cleaning experience is essential, ideally within a healthcare, industrial or equipment‑based environment.
  • Understanding of infection control and hygiene standards (training will be provided).
  • Ability to follow procedures and work independently.
  • Good attention to detail and a commitment to high standards.
  • Physically fit and capable of handling and moving heavy equipment safely.
  • Reliable, punctual and a team player.
Pay Rates
  • £12.21 p/h
Shift Schedule
  • Monday to Friday - 08:00 to 18:00
