Production Line Manager

You will be responsible for the safe and effective management of production, ensuring daily and weekly metrics are achieved and exceeded, whilst maintaining Safety and Quality standards at all times. This is a full‑time role based at our Sudbury facility. Work hours are Monday to Thursday (2:15 pm to 10:15 pm) and Friday (2:15 pm to 8:45 pm).

Your Role:
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environment statements, policies and procedures and conduct all H&S audits and annual assessments.
  • Manage a team focused on Safety, Quality, Customer Service and Costs to deliver production orders on time and reduce missed customer orders.
  • Carry out regular analysis to optimise capacity plans and maintain the optimal level of direct staff.
  • Help reduce year‑on‑year product cost movements by improving production utilisation and efficiency and driving CI activities to successful completion.
  • Ensure new products enter manufacturing in a well‑planned/optimised manner and influence product design for ease and consistency of manufacture.
  • Conduct daily, weekly and monthly planning with the Demand Planning group to ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time and identify and escalatethe potential issues in collaboration with relevant functions.
  • Work with functional groups to identify process improvements in documentation/processes (e.g. Quality Notifications) to ensure compliance.
  • Demonstrate leadership in strengthening the site continuous improvement culture, coaching and facilitating in the use of core methods such as Structured Problem Solving, Agile Visual Management and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Assist Support Engineers and the Quality group with Validation tasks requiring risk assessments and validation protocols (plans and final reports) to ensure all manufacturing activities comply with documentation.
Your Expertise:
  • 2 or more years’ experience in a medical manufacturing environment (or technical manufacturing environment).
  • Experience of low to medium volume manufacturing, manual processes. Zero defect culture. Focus on meeting customer quality & demand requirements.
  • IT literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Can manage time effectively and has a desire to succeed.
  • Flexible approach and ability to adapt according to workload.
  • Self‑motivated, reliable, able to work on own initiative, manage time effectively and possess a desire to succeed.
