Baltic Recruitment are delighted to be supporting our market leading manufacturing client with their search for a Production Engineer.

Job Purpose

A key role within the business managing the whole production process, making sure everything runs smoothly and effectively. Making key improvements to manufacturing processes throughout the business. Full responsibility for a number of manufacturing processes within the business including: CNC Routing, Sheet Metal Fabrication, Welding, Powder Coating and Electrical Assembly.

Key Duties
  • Ownership/Continuous improvement of existing machines/processes.
  • Selection of new assembly processes/techniques.
  • Specification/Development of new equipment/tooling.
  • Defining new and existing production procedures, finding ways to reduce costs and maximise efficiency while maintaining product quality.
  • Train staff in new and existing processes.
  • Collaborate with design engineers and management in developing new manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Machine/process introduction including supplier selection, ergonomics, PFMEA, concept design, cycle time achievement and reduction, factory layout, technical files and operating instructions, support for production and maintenance teams.
  • Resolving quality issues highlighted by shop floor and seeking corrective actions via purchasing from suppliers as required. Liaise with other departments as required if design or BOM changes are required.
  • Generating installation documents for new products and SOPs for existing products ideally with ability to work with 3D models to generate literature.
Key Requirements
  • Minimum of HNC/HND standard or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar industry or some automotive experience preferred.
  • Technical background, with hands‑on experience in designing and setting up production lines for new processes.
  • Software knowledge (MS Office, 2D and 3D CAD, ideally SolidEdge).
The Package
  • £35,000 – £45,000 per annum depending on experience.
  • Paid overtime.
  • Working hours: 9 am – 5 pm Monday‑Friday, can be flexible.
  • Company pension.
  • 25 days holiday.
  • 6‑month probationary period.
