Calderdale's Integrated Commissioning, Contracts and Quality Team are pleased to offer an exciting new opportunity for an individual to join them in achieving their vision of improving outcomes for adults and, children and young people in Calderdale.

Working as a Procurement Officer (social care) in the Integrated Commissioning, Contracts and Quality Team the post holder will contribute to the work of the team comprising: three Procurement Officers; the Senior Procurement Officer; and the Strategic Procurement Manager. The postholder will deliver to the contracting and procurement of services within Adult Services and Wellbeing and Children and Young Peoples Directorates ensuring the provision of high quality, safe and value for money client-centred services. The post holder will have experience of procurement and contract management or, demonstrable and appropriate transferable skills and experience.

The post holder will prepare tender and contract documentation, manage the tendering process in line with statutory and legal requirements; support the selection process for suitable providers/contractors and assist in negotiations; process contract extensions; attend and contribute to contract meetings, as required; prepare reports, maintain records and assemble data; liaise with commissioning officers on contract performance and carry out other projects as requested by the Strategic Procurement Manager and/or the Senior Procurement Officer.

We would welcome applications from innovative individuals who have a range of procurement and contract management experience or transferrable skills and experience. Applicants will be able to work with local partners and stakeholders and have the ability to build positive relationships.

Applications will be considered from those who can demonstrate an understanding of relevant Social Care and Communities statutory legislation, it is also desirable to have an understanding of Procurement Act and Regulations. A Level 5 Qualification in contracts and procurement or, a Level 5 qualification in a relevant subject area or, equivalent relevant and demonstrable experience is required.
