Our procurement team is divided into 3 main category areas: Construction and Environment, Adult and Children Public Health and Corporate Services.

This role sits within the Corporate Services team and will report directly to the Procurement Category lead.

With a strategic emphasis on commercial value, this role will oversee a diverse and critical procurement portfolio across these and other areas:

  • Financial services: pensions, debt management, treasury operations, insurance, and actuarial services.
  • Facilities management: including security, cleaning, catering, and office relocation.
  • Vehicle fleet supplies and associated support services.
  • Temporary accommodation supplies to fulfill statutory obligations related to homelessness.
  • Human resources, consultancy services and transformation.
  • Communication, transformation, media and events.
  • Parking and streetscene.

This is an existing role within the organisation and the post holder is expected to work on procurement work streams for a range of major and strategically significant contracts within a designated Category area of expenditure. We are a small and close team who share ideas and learn from each other, we are proactive and uphold with pride the principles of Public Procurement.

  • Must understand about the Procurement New Act Regulations and have had experience in complex procurement projects.
  • Must be able to run a tender from start to finish and have used different framework agreements.
  • Communicate in a clear, confident and authoritative manner that is in line with established policies and practices of the Council, having a good relationship with stakeholders and peers.
  • To organise and deliver all work on time and to agree quality standards.
