Job title: Procurement Business Partner – E&I Capability Programmes

Salary:£54,793+ Dependent of skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Serve as the primary interface between the E&I Capabilities team and the Procurement function, ensuring alignment with commercial strategy and performance objectives

  • Act as an embedded member of the IPT, providing proactive procurement support, supplier management insight, and commercial risk mitigation

  • Manage supplier performance through the SDU, covering delivery, pricing, and contract execution

  • Support internal approvals and governance processes, including requests for bid approvals, bid status reviews, and lifecycle management

  • Lead integration activities across the portfolio of programmes, supporting new business opportunities, providing a vital business interface, and driving the procurement response to these opportunities

  • Provide support to the Europe Business Partner in senior leadership forums

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • A continuous improvement mindset, with proven experience of generating and implementing ideas that drive improvement, applying problem-solving skills, and working collaboratively with others to deliver solutions, ideally within a procurement or similar environment

  • Ability to work effectively in an agile and dynamic environment, responding flexibly to emerging demands and shifting priorities

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including delegation, coaching, and people management, with the ability to empower and develop teams

  • Strong understanding and practical experience of supplier risk and opportunity management

Desirable

  • Experience of managing or contributing to early lifecycle programmes within a supply chain environment

  • Experience of managing strategic internal customer relationships, with the ability to build and sustain trust

  • Working knowledge of lifecycle and governance processes

  • Possession of, or actively working towards, MCIPS or an equivalent professional qualification, or a degree in a business-related subject

The Procurement Team

The Procurement Group Leader will act as the dedicated interface for the Europe & International (E&I) Capabilities Organisation, fully embedded within the Integrated Project Team (IPT).

Working collaboratively with cross-functional colleagues across the E&I Capabilities organisation, the team will lead the delivery of the critical Phase 4 Enhancements and weapons integration development programmes across both the Product Definition and Capability Delivery work streams.

The team will contribute to the development of cost, risk, and opportunity information for projects, aligned to Lifecycle Management and bid clearance processes. They will also integrate across the wider business to ensure effective business management, reporting, and governance of programmes.

In addition, the Procurement team will play a key role in supporting the Radar team with the delivery of the UK Mk2 Radar embodiment programme. This will include building relationships with new stakeholders, collating pricing inputs from the SDU to support customer bids, and providing clear reporting on programme delivery.
