A reputable law firm in Taunton is seeking a Private Client Solicitor to manage a diverse portfolio of Private Client matters. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in Private Client law, strong organisational skills, and excellent communication abilities. Our client's firm, founded in 1870, has offices in South Somerset and East Devon, with a sub-office in Mid Devon. With 3 Partners and 22 staff, they pride themselves on delivering exceptional client service in Private Client law.
Are you the right person for the job?
5–10 years' post-qualification experience in Private Client law
Strong background handling Wills, Probate, Trusts, and Powers of Attorney
Confidence in managing a varied caseload in a busy office environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-first approach
Willingness to take on a client-facing, face-to-face role
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
A collaborative mindset, working effectively with partners, fee earners, trainees, and support staff
A commitment to maintaining high standards of compliance and service
What will your role look like?
Manage a diverse portfolio of Private Client matters
Work closely with one Partner, two senior fee earners, a trainee solicitor, and support staff to deliver exceptional client care
Provide expert advice and support to clients in a friendly, professional manner
Contribute to a department that represents approximately 60% of the firm's billing
Ensure compliance with firm procedures, maintaining high standards of client service
What can you expect in return?
Competitive salary (around £60,000+, negotiable depending on experience) plus discretionary annual bonus
23–24 days' annual leave, plus an additional day for your birthday from next year, and all statutory bank holidays
Sick pay is three weeks at full pay, followed by statutory sick pay
