Overview

Job Title: Principal Supply Chain Project Manager – GFA

Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: From £70,865+ executive car allowance depending on skills & experience

Responsibilities
  • Leadership of the Government Furnished Assets (GFA) team to work with key stakeholders within the business to ensure all GFA requirements for the programme are accurately identified and submitted to MOD
  • Establishing, managing and controlling all associated labour and material budgets, working in consultation with key stakeholders
  • Ensuring that the team procures required items in line with SQCDP objectives, with effective contract management throughout
  • Be accountable for all programme related GFA activity in line with area of responsibility (project management, programme, strategy and business capability) in support of the Supply Chain Functional Plan at BAE Systems (Barrow)
  • Ensuring that the team provides and continuously improves systems, policies, processes, business capability and project related tasks / information to support procuring teams to procure required items in line with SQCDP objectives, with effective contract management throughout
  • Ensuring sub-ordinates work collaboratively across the Functions and Business (as appropriate) to resolve problems and achieve objectives and high standards of performance
  • Leading and managing a team of professional Project Management Staff and Managers in the delivery of the Supply Chain Functional Strategy and Plan, specifically in support of the area / portfolio that has been assigned to the individual
Qualifications

Essential:

  • Project Management APMP (or equivalent level), relevant, professional qualification
  • Supply Chain MCIPS (or equivalent level), relevant, professional qualification
  • Experience in Supply Chain management

Desirable:

  • Experience in the Defence sector or similar environment
  • Management, leadership and business executive skills

The Supply Chain Team

As Principal Supply Chain Project Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of leading and coordinating all supply chain activities within your area of responsibility, whether that’s procurement, programme management, strategic development, or enhancing business capabilities. Your role will be pivotal in delivering the Supply Chain Functional Plan, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives. You’ll also contribute to shaping key strategies, policies, and procedures that drive continuous improvement, elevate product quality, and enhance customer satisfaction across both internal teams and external partners. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
