Job Overview

Furnace Technologist reporting directly to the Head of Technology in the UK Operating Centre. The role involves managing R&D projects, providing technical support, and developing furnace technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Managing the activities in the UK Operating Centre for Research & Development projects
  • Providing technical support to Sales
  • Identifying and developing potential new prospects for the company
  • Providing technical input to the proposals group for maintaining experience lists, brochures and other proposal materials
  • Preparing and maintaining UK Operating Centre procedures and other technology standard documents
  • Collaborating with Technology groups in other offices to ensure consistency of design standards and methodology
  • Sharing best working practices and experience with other offices
  • Recommending input into the production of work orders and R&D projects for technical expertise development
  • Preparing papers and making presentations for T.EN technologies supported by the UK office
  • Producing furnace designs for grassroots furnace and revamp projects
  • Producing studies and furnace guarantees as required by clients
  • Performing and checking detailed calculations and issuing project documents
  • Interfaceing with engineering disciplines and departments as required
  • Interfaceing with suppliers for equipment design and supply as required
  • Furthering the development of furnace technology
  • Improving methods used to determine the process design of furnaces
Qualifications
