Job summary

Stanstead Flying High Academy, part of Flying High Partnership, seeks a caring Teaching Assistant on a temporary contract for the academic year to support pupils in the classroom and work with the class teacher and staff.

You will assist with whole class, small groups, and 1:1 support for children with additional needs, helping every child feel safe, happy and able to reach their potential while upholding safeguarding and school values.

Qualifications

• Enjoy working with children and support their growth.
• Positive, proactive team member who communicates well.
• Good literacy and numeracy; able to follow teacher direction.
• Values inclusion and confidentiality; safeguarding minded.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils during teacher-led activities, encouraging independence and active participation.
• Prepare and maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment, including displays and resources.
• Promote positive behaviour and support children’s social development during learning and break times.
• Build positive relationships with pupils to support their learning, wellbeing, and personal development.
• Collaborate with class teachers, support staff, and families to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold safeguarding procedures in all interactions.
