Job summary

The Flying Bull Academy in Portsmouth is seeking a dedicated teaching assistant who supports learning and promotes children’s independence. You will contribute to development including speech and language, learning, physical and mental well-being under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.

You will work one-to-one or in small groups across a range of activities, maintaining resources and supporting pupils with diverse needs in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children in a primary age setting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with children, carers and colleagues.
• Ability to work as part of a cohesive team and on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Support learning by assisting the class teacher and SENCO.
• Work one-to-one or in small groups across a wide range of activities.
• Prepare and maintain teaching resources for activities.
• Uphold and promote positive behaviour and pupil wellbeing.
• Support pupils with medical and personal hygiene needs.
