The Role – KS1 Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

As a KS1 HLTA working through Academics, you will:

  • Lead small group interventions and deliver planned lessons in the teacher’s absence.
  • Support the class teacher in planning, preparing, and assessing learning activities.
  • Help create an engaging, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Foster pupils’ independence, confidence, and love of learning.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other staff to ensure every child thrives.
About You

To be considered for this KS1 HLTA position, you should have:

  • Proven experience supporting teaching and learning in a Key Stage 1 setting.
  • HLTA status or an equivalent Level 4 qualification (or willingness to work towards it).
  • Strong communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
  • The confidence to lead groups and deliver pre-planned lessons independently.
  • A genuine passion for helping young children achieve their full potential.
