Practitioner Psychologist - Autism/ ADHD Assessor

At Evolve Psychology Services, we empower our clinicians to deliver exceptional care to children, young people, and families. You will join a multidisciplinary team specialising in high-quality, evidence-based autism and ADHD assessments, through both NHS-funded and private pathways. This role is within our Exeter team and is a hybrid position with part-time and full-time options, requiring a minimum of three days per week. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will contribute to comprehensive neurodevelopmental assessments to ensure timely and accurate diagnoses that support appropriate interventions and outcomes.

Overview

We specialise in autism and ADHD assessments for children, young people, and adults. Our service delivers NHS-funded assessments across the UK and private pathways, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based, person-centred care.

Main duties
  • Conduct face-to-face structured observations as part of neurodevelopmental assessments.
  • Carry out remote developmental history interviews with parents and carers via Zoom.
  • Participate in peer MDT diagnostic discussions, with senior clinician support where needed.
  • Deliver clear, compassionate feedback to families.
  • Produce accurate clinical reports, including diagnostic formulations, with the aid of our AI-assisted tools.
  • Meet service KPIs and contribute to service development projects as required.
  • Provide clinical supervision where applicable.
  • Contribute to other activities such as consultations, quality checking reports, and ensuring in-person assessments for hybrid working.
  • Travel to a clinic base for in-person assessments as part of a hybrid role.

Qualifications and experience
  • Must hold HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical, Counselling, or Educational).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience conducting diagnostic assessments for autism and/or ADHD in children and young people.
  • Strong understanding of differential diagnosis in neurodevelopmental presentations.
  • In-depth knowledge of DSM-5 criteria for autism and ADHD.
  • Training and experience with diagnostic tools such as ADOS-2, ADI-R, etc.
  • Effective time management and ability to manage caseloads to meet clinical deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and participate in collaborative diagnostic discussions.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills for high-quality clinical reports and family interactions.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

Contract and working pattern

Permanent contract. Working pattern: Full-time, Part-time, hybrid/home or remote working.
