Practice Nurse – Torquay, Devon

Location: Torquay, Devon
Contract: Full-time or Part-time (flexible working available)

A well-established and welcoming general practice in Torquay is seeking a skilled and compassionate Practice Nurse to join its friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team. The Role

The Practice Nurse will play a key role in the delivery of nursing services to the practice population, working closely with GPs, healthcare assistants, and other allied health professionals. The role is varied and patient-focused, with scope to develop special interests in line with the nurse’s experience and the needs of the practice.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivery of chronic disease management, including asthma, COPD, diabetes, and hypertension

  • Cervical cytology and women’s health services

  • Childhood and adult immunisations and vaccinations

  • Health promotion, lifestyle advice, and patient education

  • Wound care, dressings, and minor injury management

  • Travel health assessments and vaccinations (where trained)

  • Infection prevention and control and cold chain management

  • Supporting QOF and enhanced services

  • Participation in audits, clinical meetings, and service development
