Job Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Practice Nurse to join our Primary Care team in Brighton. Working in line with the NMC Code of Conduct, the successful post holder will deliver high‑quality nursing care, including assessment, treatment, screening, health education and health promotion services.

You will work autonomously and collaboratively with GPs, nurse colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team, following agreed practice protocols, policies and national guidelines. Prescribing nurses will be supported to use their qualification appropriately within their scope of practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Chronic disease management: assess, diagnose, monitor and develop individual care plans; deliver QOF and enhanced service requirements efficiently and accurately; undertake investigations such as spirometry and reversibility testing.
  • Clinical care & monitoring: therapeutic monitoring and treatment compliance; wound care (including complex wound management); health checks and cardiovascular/NHS health checks; blood pressure and blood glucose monitoring; ECGs and phlebotomy in line with practice policy.
  • Health promotion & screening: cervical screening, women's and men's health checks; travel health advice and immunisations (adult and child); smoking cessation support; mental health support and medication monitoring.
  • Additional clinical duties: ear care; minor surgery support; risk assessments including safeguarding, vulnerable adults and social issues.
  • Leadership & management: lead and support the nursing team; conduct supervision, appraisals and one‑to‑ones; support workforce planning, training and service development.
Essential Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.

  • Understanding of confidentiality and information governance.
  • Competent IT skills (SystmOne experience desirable).
