Responsibilities

As a Practice Nurse working for GPDQ, you will have access to a multi-tude of workstreams enabling you to develop a portfolio career. You will be working for a private company delivering high-quality nursing care within a private setting, supporting patients with acute and chronic health needs, preventative healthcare, and women’s health services. The post-holder will provide a full range of nursing services, including contraceptive services with coil fitting and removal, while working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to meet practice priorities. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional clinical skills, a strong commitment to patient care, and a passion for promoting preventative health measures.

  • Provide nursing services during surgery sessions, including face-to-face and telephone consultations
  • Deliver services including intrauterine device/system (IUD/IUS) fitting, removal, and aftercare
  • Conduct cervical cytology (smear tests)
  • Provide contraceptive advice and sexual health care
  • Undertake chronic disease management clinics (e.g., asthma, COPD, diabetes, hypertension)
  • Provide immunisations (childhood, travel, seasonal)
  • Support health promotion, patient education, and lifestyle advice (e.g., smoking cessation, weight management)
  • Administer adult vaccinations and injections as required
  • Assist with minor surgery and other treatment room duties
  • Participate in safeguarding processes for children and vulnerable adults
  • Maintain accurate, contemporaneous records on the clinical system (EMIS / SystmOne or equivalent)
  • Work flexibly as part of the wider practice team
Essential requirements
  • Must have a Right to Work in the UK
  • Registered Nurse (RGN) with NMC registration
  • Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare (FSRH) Letter of Competence in Intrauterine Techniques (LoC IUT) or equivalent qualification for coil fitting/removal
  • Must be IT literate
  • Competence in coil fitting and removal
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and colleagues
  • Empathetic and patient-centered approach to healthcare delivery
