Job Title: PPM Engineer
Location: Essex
Salary: £52,000 + 10% bonus
Hours: Monday to Friday, days

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and skilled PPM Engineer to join a busy FMCG manufacturing site. The role is key to ensuring all plant and machinery operate at peak efficiency, minimising downtime, and supporting production through structured maintenance programmes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules across all manufacturing equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections, diagnostics, and condition monitoring to identify potential issues.
  • Work closely with maintenance and production teams to ensure minimal disruption during maintenance activities.
  • Record, track, and report maintenance activities and performance metrics.
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new equipment.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a PPM, maintenance, or reliability engineering role within FMCG, manufacturing, or a similar environment.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and PLC knowledge.
  • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and conveyor systems preferred.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work proactively, problem-solve, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems and maintenance reporting tools advantageous.
