Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Energy Plant Operator to join our team at Leo Group Ltd. In this role, you will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our processing facilities, contributing to our mission of sustainability and quality service. This position is based in one of our operational sites across the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the equipment such as rotary kiln, boilers etc.
  • Clean and maintain equipment
  • Perform regular safety checks
  • Read charts, meters, and gauges to monitor electricity flow, steam output
  • Adjust controls to regulate steam flow and distribution, adjusting output as needed
  • Identify and rectify electrical or mechanical faults for the prevention of plant breakdowns
  • Report and log major repair needs and unsafe conditions
  • Respond to emergencies, system failures, and power outages, implementing contingency plans as needed
  • Able to make considered decisions
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a plant operator or similar role preferred.
  • Experience with boilers (operating, maintaining)
  • Mechanical knowledge about gearboxes, transmitters, lubing, bearing replacements
  • Electrical knowledge covering connections, how to connect sensor, replace fuses, electrical failures, multimeter use, diagnostics of electrical motors 3phase (380kw /320kw, currents not essential
  • Automation knowledge control of the motors
  • Thermodynamics knowledge: steam how it produced temperatures, pressures, risk with working with steam, flow of steam and gases desirable
  • Combustion knowledge biofuel combustion desirable
  • BOAS training certification - Boiler Operation Accreditation Scheme - desirable
