A leading healthcare provider in Blackburn is seeking a Point of Care Coordinator to oversee the implementation and compliance of the Point of Care Policy. The role involves managing a team, providing training, and liaising with clinical and laboratory staff. Candidates must possess a full UK driving license and have a deep understanding of Point of Care devices in Pathology. This position may require travel across various hospital sites and offers an opportunity to contribute to quality assurance initiatives.
The Point of Care Coordinator will be responsible in conjunction with the Point of Care Clinical Lead for the implementation of the Trust wide Point of Care Policy, ensuring the Trust and other services comply with Current Legislation, Regulations and Guidelines.
The post holder will coordinate and manage a team of Associate Practitioners, and together will provide training, assessment, advice and problem solving for a range of Point of Care devices. Implement a Quality Assurance scheme liaising with the relevant laboratories, for these Point of Care devices. The Point of Care coordinator acts as the link between the users of Point of Care and the Pathology Department. They will have an understanding of Point of Care devices for all Pathology disciplines.
The POCC will be required to work across ELHT sites regularly at Royal Blackburn Hospital and Burnley General Hospital sites with occasional visits to other ELHT sites including Community sites and they must have a full UK driving license and access to own vehicle for travel.

Whilst this post is based at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital, this may change in the future if services are reorganised.
Within current timelines, this post may TUPE into LTHTR as the hosting employer in early 2026.
