PMLD Teacher - Primary - Birmingham

Are you a compassionate and creative teacher with experience supporting children with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)? This welcoming and well-resourced primary special school in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated PMLD Teacher to join their experienced and passionate team.

Job Role:
  • Planning and delivering creative, multi-sensory lessons that meet the individual needs of children with PMLD.
  • Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to provide a holistic and engaging learning experience.
  • Using specialist resources and communication systems such as PECS, Makaton, and sensory-based approaches.
  • Creating a calm, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement and progress.
  • Supporting personal care and ensuring that every pupil's physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with parents and carers to ensure continuity of care and learning.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching children with PMLD or complex needs.
  • A patient, nurturing, and flexible approach to teaching and learning.
  • Knowledge of differentiated learning strategies and sensory approaches.
  • Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • A genuine passion for improving outcomes for children with the most complex learning needs.
