The Company:

Our services cover all aspects of M&E installation, maintenance and compliance for commercial buildings — including new installations, repairs, modernisation and refurbishment. The role is within a Film Studio in Hertfordshire.

The Candidate

We are seeking a qualified Plumber with strong technical ability, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive work ethic. This person will represent the company professionally while delivering high-quality workmanship and maintaining strong client relationships that foster repeat business. The successful candidate will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, installations, and general plumbing works across Film Studio properties in and around Watford. They will also support colleagues in a multi-skilled capacity and provide technical advice to ensure our clients receive the best service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance of commercial plumbing systems (hot & cold water, sanitary ware, pipework repairs, drainage, etc.).
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently.
  • Install new plumbing systems and components in line with the project requirements.
  • Perform Legionella control duties, including:
    • Weekly and monthly flushing of infrequently used outlets
    • Temperature monitoring of hot & cold‑water systems
    • Showerhead cleaning and descaling
    • TMV checks, cleaning, and maintenance
  • Recording findings accurately in site logbooks.
  • Supporting compliance with ACOP L8 and HSG274.
  • Support the wider team with general building services PPM when required.
  • Ensure all compliance documentation, job sheets, and certificates are completed accurately and promptly.
  • Produce clear and concise reports detailing works carried out and materials used.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to company and industry safety standards at all times.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional communication with clients.
  • Carry out any other duties required by the business.
Key Requirements
  • Have proven experience in commercial and/or domestic plumbing.
  • Hold relevant plumbing qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent).
  • Ideally have water regulations (WRAS) and unvented/vented hot water qualifications (G3).
  • Possess multi‑skilled experience within the building services sector (desirable).
  • Be enthusiastic, proactive, and willing to learn.
  • Be able to work to tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Have excellent communication and time‑management skills.
  • Demonstrate a flexible “can‑do” attitude and strong attention to detail.
  • Be capable of working independently and assessing their own performance.
  • Be mature, credible, and confident when dealing with clients at all levels.
  • Be able to reliably commute to the office and various site locations.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety legislation at all times.
Desirable Requirements
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required.
  • Basic IT skills, including MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and the use of mobile job management systems.
