Job summary

A facilities management company in London is looking for a plumbing technician to perform maintenance on various building systems. The ideal candidate has a recognized qualification in Plumbing/Heating, experience in the maintenance industry, and strong customer service skills. Job description
Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on engineering services as required and in line with skills set
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service on plumbing/heating systems and fixtures (incl.)as directed
  • Install, repair and maintain water treatment equipment, piping and controls
  • Install, repair and maintain underground storm sanitary and water piping systems
  • Install, repair and maintain sinks, tubs and toilets
  • Install, repair and maintain water heaters and conditioners
  • Install, repair and maintain plumbing fixtures, appliances and trim
  • Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks
  • Be available to carry out necessary works outside normal hours with additional remuneration.
  • Procure materials and equipment to carry out works.
  • Complete worksheets / PDA for works undertaken representative.
  • To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time, including but not limited to purchase card receipts, timesheets and mileage returns
  • Able to diagnose and repair simple and complex issues on various building systems.
  • Ability to produce permit to work/risk assessments as required
  • Identify and action any faults/remedial works inconjunction with the Helpdesk
  • Use handheld technology effectively to carry out all tasks
  • Assist other team members when required or as directed from Operations Supervisor/Contract Manager
  • Ensure that all tasks are completed within the contractual time scales.
Qualifications
  • Appropriately Qualified Certification in Plumbing/Heating from a recognized and accredited post-secondary institution - Same as mech C&G
  • Experience in the building services or maintenance industry as a recognised trade technician
  • Ability to undertake small mechanical tasks
  • Good demonstrable track record in a similar role
  • Ability to work on own volition, produce reports and data for the Helpdesk as required.
  • Strong customer care focus & high levels of communication skills
  • Good Health and Safety awareness and knowledge
  • Full and Clean driving Licence
  • Able to work at heights
  • Committed, reliable and flexible
  • Able to work as part of a Team and to work on their own
