Job summary

Just Eat Takeaway.com is seeking a Platform Engineer for the Batch Data Tools team within the Data Platform. You will help build Mobius, an internal analytics platform, enabling scalable batch and streaming data workloads via a declarative interface.

Role focuses on designing data processing capabilities, architecture decisions, and improving tooling and developer experience across cloud environments. Strong coding, Spark/DBT, and Kubernetes experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong coding skills in Python, Java, or Scala for production-grade software.
• Hands-on experience with data transformation tools like Spark and DBT.
• Experience with Kubernetes-native platforms to deploy data workloads.
• Familiarity with AWS data/services and data quality considerations.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve batch/data processing capabilities on Mobius.
• Contribute to architecture decisions that scale with data needs.
• Collaborate with teams to translate data requirements into production solutions.
• Establish observability: monitoring, alerting, logging; lead incident responses.
• Engage in code reviews to raise engineering standards.
• Work with internal/external teams to deliver measurable value.
• Identify tooling/process improvements to ease development on Mobius.
• Contribute to planning and breaking down problems into goals.
