Job summary

Just Eat Takeaway.com is seeking a Platform Engineer to join the Batch Data Tools team and help build Mobius, a Kubernetes-native, declarative data platform enabling data engineers to provision and manage batch and streaming pipelines via a concise API.

You will design and improve batch processing capabilities, influence platform architecture, and collaborate across the Global Intelligence Platforms org to deliver measurable business value.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python/Java/Scala for data processing.
• Strong SQL skills for large-scale data queries.
• Experience with Kubernetes-native data platforms and cloud data services.
• Knowledge of data quality and schema management.
• Experience with Spark, DBT and orchestration tools like Airflow.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and continuously improve batch data processing on Mobius, prioritising reliability and maintainability.
• Contribute to Mobius platform evolution and scalable architecture decisions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to translate data needs into production-ready solutions.
• Own observability: monitoring, alerting, and logging; lead incident response when issues arise.
• Participate in code reviews and raise engineering standards across the team.
• Work with Global Intelligence Platforms and external teams to deliver measurable business value.
• Drive tooling and developer experience improvements for Mobius.
