Job summary

Just Eat Takeaway.com is seeking a Platform Engineer for the Batch Data Tools team within the Global Intelligence Platforms organisation. You will build and evolve Mobius, a Kubernetes-native data platform powering data workloads at scale, enabling data engineers to provision batch and streaming pipelines through a declarative API.

You will own batch components, contribute to platform evolution, ensure reliability, and collaborate across teams to deliver measurable business value.

Qualifications

• Strong coding skills in Python/Java/Scala for production-grade software.
• Experience with data transformation tools like Spark and DBT.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes-native platforms and cloud deployments.
• Proficiency in SQL and querying large datasets (e.g., Athena).
• Experience with monitoring, observability, and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and improve batch and data processing on the Mobius platform.
• Shape architecture decisions to scale data workloads across the org.
• Collaborate with internal teams to translate data needs into solutions.
• Set up observability, monitoring, logging, and incident response.
• Participate in code reviews and raise engineering standards.
• Work with Global Intelligence Platforms and external teams to deliver value.
• Improve tooling, processes, and developer experience for Mobius.
• Assist in team planning and breaking down complex problems.
