Location: Kettering

Salary: £32,000 - £39,000 + Overtime + Van

Overview

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Plant Fitter on behalf of one of our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance and repairs to long/short term machines and customers owned equipment. Ensuring best practice with quality and professionalism are met at all times and to maintain customer satisfaction. Our client strongly encourages applications from ex-military personnel however, all candidates will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the Workshop manager in identifying plant issues.
  • Work proactively as part of a busy workshop team both in the workshop and on our construction sites.
  • Ensuring that safe practices are demonstrated on site whilst conducting your work.
  • Where necessary brief the operators on the issues which are causing damage or wear to plant and equipment.
  • Promote safe practices in operation and repair of equipment within the business.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to rigorously enforcing appropriate standards of Health and Safety for yourself and others at all times.
  • Ensure all processes are followed and compiled with.
  • Provide effective solutions for plant problems.
  • Participate in the development of plant maintenance processes which suit our business requirements.
  • Converse efficiently with plant operators and site management teams in a professional manner to ensure the efficient process of maintaining fleet.
  • Carry out in-house training when required.
  • Carry out local risk assessment & method statements.
  • Communicate with managers to organise the repair of machinery to minimise downtime and disruption to site operations.
  • Investigate repairs and provide an effective solution.
  • Any other duties as requested by the Plant Workshop Manager.
  • Own and demonstrate proper use of tools, diagnostic equipment in accordance with PUWER regulations.
  • In-house fabrications and repair for bespoke items and upkeep of construction plant and equipment.
