Salary: Up to £85,000, plus company package

Are you currently working as a Planning Manager looking for a new challenge in the power & energy sector, or a Senior Planner ready to advance your career? We have partnered with a longstanding client at Kenton Black, experiencing sustained growth, who are seeking to expand their team by hiring a Planning Manager. This role involves overseeing a large portfolio of projects across the country, specializing within the energy sector.

The client is a Tier 1 contractor operating across multiple sectors, with this position falling under their fastest-growing division. The Planning Manager will report directly to the Head of Planning and will manage multiple large infrastructure schemes worth several million pounds. The company has a strong order book for the next 18-24 months, with further growth anticipated, offering genuine career development opportunities.

Role Responsibilities:
  1. Planning & Strategy: Define planning scope, constraints, and contract requirements, focusing on key quantities and schedule drivers.
  2. Tender Management: Lead the development of sequencing and methodology, overseeing planning teams to ensure efficient design, procurement, and construction strategies.
  3. Programme Leadership: Manage planning deliverables including programmes, presentations, and reports. Guide planners to align with project goals.
  4. Contract Stage: Oversee Contract Programme development and maintenance, ensuring procedural compliance and supporting project leadership.
  5. Controls & Risk: Analyze critical paths, manage baselines, and implement change control to maintain project integrity.
  6. Resource & Contract Management: Manage labour, materials, and subcontractor contracts, resolving issues to minimize delays.
  7. Data & KPIs: Support tracking progress through data analysis and performance metrics.
  8. Team Development: Mentor junior planners to promote growth and capability within the team.
